Here’s your chance to work as a Business Development Manager (BDM) in our Training & Certification (T&C) team. This is a highly visible position with significant customer impact.
In this role, you will work closely with our strategic commercial customers in the ANZ region.
You will focus on developing strategic training approaches to build the cloud skills that help our customers to succeed in their cloud journey, build critical could relevant skills and drive adoption and usage of AWS services.
You will work closely with our customers, account managers, and solution architects to support customers to understand their training requirements, addressing immediate up-skilling needs and ongoing requirements to train the cloud builders of tomorrow.
This role is a great opportunity for you to drive business development, build deep and meaningful relationships with our customers and demonstrate your passion for helping customers to drive their cloud skills journey.
You will be working in a determined and highly collaborative team that relentlessly focuses on our customers. This includes our trainer and operations team to ensure successful delivery of the learning experiences, and ensure amazing post-sales client satisfaction results across your customers.

Key job responsibilities
Work closely with AWS Customers and Account Teams to determine training requirements and build detailed training plans and plans to accelerate the adoption of AWS Services. Conduct learning needs assessments with customers
Define customer Training & Certification and skills development strategies together with the team lead and agree on goals and measures for success. Maintain a strong relationship with sales leaders and across functional teams to ensure flawless execution of training programs.
Build & maintain a pipeline of training opportunities and provide regular forecasts/business reviews to management in T&C. Become proficient in the various AWS Training & Certification offerings and delivery capabilities.
Achieve and exceed key goals including a number of students trained, revenue, certification, and other key business metrics. Combine Training plans with the ability to deliver through AWS Training Partners.
Collaborate with the Partner training team in driving tandem training plans with Partners.
Collaborate with AWS re/Start teams, Academy and Educate teams where applicable within the large Enterprise and SMB accounts manage your own accounts.
A day in the life
Your day starts with a fresh coffee or tea as you think big. You connect with account managers to understand customer needs. You reach out to customers to help them to understand the possibilities. In the afternoon, you debrief a Learning Needs.
Assessment with your customer and discuss the suggested training plan. Success! The customer wants the training you suggested. You create a proposal for your customer. Close off with your forecast.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ year’s business development, and technical & pre-sales experience, preferably in the IT industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience engaging and presenting to senior executives (CxO level).
- Strong commercial experience and business acumen.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience conducting training needs assessments and developing training plans.
- Experience leading a team of technical professionals.
- A technical background in engineering or computer science.
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or Cloud Computing concepts.
- Marketing, operations, and training delivery experience.
