Job Description
IP Australia is investing in the development of innovative new products for the agency, with an initial focus on disrupting the status quo for trade marking and optimizing customer experiences for small to medium enterprises (SMEs).
Their first product shipped to market is an AI-assisted trademark intelligence platform that makes it easy for companies to check trademark availability and complete the application process in minutes.
We are looking for an experienced partnerships manager who wants to be part of an exciting journey to establish and run the B2B partnerships function for this innovative new product.
Your main goal will be to develop relationships with awesome brands to improve engagement between Australian businesses and the trademark system. If you are looking to make a massive impact in an exciting business within the Australian Government, we would love to hear from you!
The key duties of the position include:
- Achieve significant new business acquisition targets to accelerate the growth of Trade Mark Checker and deliver business results
- Execute the end-to-end partnership funnel for TM Checker from lead generation through to close
- Manage and support relationships with existing partners, affiliate networks, account managers, and other internal/external stakeholders
- Work closely with partners to negotiate terms and establish mutually beneficial agreements in a public sector context
- Work closely with relevant areas of the business to develop and shape content for partners
- Ensure current and prospective partners understand the TM Checker value proposition
- Refine the value proposition based on industry feedback to develop an engaging sales process
- Conduct market research and analyze performance metrics to uncover market opportunities and risks
- Create strategies and execute initiatives to grow into additional categories/ verticals
- Support the Growth function with lead generation initiatives, new product programs, and communications in all B2B2B campaigns
- Identify the most valuable events and conferences and the right level of sponsorship. Build brand awareness from your industry participation
- Track and report on results to the Venture Manager to understand success in verticals and opportunities to scale
- Help to create a sustainable model for future partnership growth
- Demonstrates attitudes and behaviors responsive to workplace change (including participating in and encouraging others to participate in change and contribute to successful outcomes)
- Improves organizational performance through effective engagement with and management of risk within the relevant sphere of influence
- Establishes clear expectations and creates an environment to achieve stated goals and objectives, takes ownership, and honors commitments
- Maintains an understanding of their/worker responsibilities under the Work Health & Safety Act (WHS Act) and a commitment to promoting a healthy and safe workplace.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment at IP Australia applicants must be Australian citizens. Applicants offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a security screening process. The successful applicant must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information. Successful applicants engaged in the APS will be subject to a probation period.

At the end of the recruitment process, a merit pool of suitable candidates may be created. Those found suitable will be advised that they have been placed in the pool.
The merit pool is valid for 18 months from the date the process was advertised. The merit pool may be used throughout the period to fill similar positions in the event positions become vacant. Initial offers of employment will be made for a non-ongoing period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of the role being made ongoing during that time.
