About the role

The Analyst, Institutional Property Group (“IPG”) Research & Analysis role works directly with the Client, Credit Risk Executive, and Relationship Management team to complete the broader credit assessment function and ensure an optimal ‘well-managed portfolio. 

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of Institutional Property clients. This involves assisting with identifying and effectively managing risks inherent in the client’s business model, industry and capital, and management structure. Client interaction relating to transaction execution and day-to-day account management is core to the position. 

Role Accountabilities

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Sound credit assessment of property-related transactions and providing support to Relationship Managers in achieving performance objectives within acceptable risk appetite whilst maintaining a well-managed agenda. 
  • Preparing quality credit memorandums. 
  • Conducting financial analysis and industry research.
  • Risk grade event management. 
  • Liaise with clients and Credit Risk Executives on credit risk and financial performance-related matters, including covenant compliance and risk grade events.
  • Liaise with Product partners to appropriately implement client solutions.
  • Deal documentation. 
  • Well Managed portfolio controls. 
  • You will be directly supported by the Associate Director (Research & Analysis) to support your learning and development.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably in Commerce, Business, Accounting, or Economics;
  • Sound credit skills with the ability to identify key business drivers and mitigate key risks including recommendations where appropriate;
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience in end-to-end deal execution; and 
  • Knowledge and application of credit policy and risk appetite frameworks.
