Gi Group has a great opportunity available for you to work at DRS as part of their annual summer series project. You will be based in a brand new state-of-the-art facility that has been purposely built for the project based in Milton Keynes, Wymbush.
Who and what do DRS do?

Who is DRS and what do they do?
DRS has nearly 50 years of experience in delivering data capture projects around the world specializing in assessment processing and electronic marking of examinations. Our aim is to be the number one provider of assessment software and services.

This is delivered through Operational Excellence using continuous improvement processes and our core values of Inspiring, Clarity, Simplicity, Ingenuity, and Together which are at the heart of everything we do.

Why does DRS need you?
One of the most critical times in the year for us is the period from May to July when we are scanning and marking in excess of 7 million GCSE and A level examination scripts set by awarding bodies such as AQA and WJEC. Paper scripts are scanned, and the images are distributed electronically and marked on-screen by markers using our on-screen marking solution e-marker.

To support us during this period we recruit temporary workers to work in our brand-new state-of-the-art operation in Wymbush to work 6 day or night shifts (Monday to Saturday) in order to deliver the results in line with the agreed timetable.

These workers are critical to our success and it is important they share our values, work ethic, and belief that every mark matters for every student. In return, they enjoy our friendly, fun, and hardworking environment. Workers tell us each year in our end-of-series survey that they enjoy working with us and many return year after year.

Below are just a few testimonials by some of our temporary workers:

Kobe summer series 2019:
“I absolutely loved working at DRS last year and looking forward to the project again this year! I enjoyed mostly the encouraging atmosphere in which we worked. I liked as well the simplicity of the training I had for my role and also the fact that targets were always attainable. I also liked the scheduling arrangements and shift patterns.”

Ian summer series 2019:
“It was two years ago. But I found the training very adequate. My colleagues were all very helpful, and friendly and everyone worked hard but was also very supportive. On the hottest nights on break, we were treated with Ice cream, and on other nights Pizza. My overall experience was very good.”

What is required from you?
All candidates must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and high concentration levels as you will be required to spot mistakes.
