The Position

Work within a dynamic and engaging team coordinating, facilitating, and delivering education sessions, school and community incursions, and program development.
 
Raise awareness of rail safety, increase passenger confidence and help increase the uptake of our Community Education Program by fostering genuine and strong relationships in schools and the community.
 
The successful candidate(s) will undergo a 22335VIC Certificate III in Public Transport Customer Service and Compliance (10 weeks of paid training) at Metro Academy and undergo additional checks. In addition, you will be required to train, obtain and maintain Authorised Officer qualification(s).

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Community Education Unit Team Leader, duties and responsibilities include:
  • Plan and deliver rail safety education programs across multiple platforms (face to face, digital, online) to a range of audiences, including schools and community groups, to increase passenger confidence.
  • Create educational content and activities to increase passenger understanding of the public transport network and safe travel practices.
  • Collect data and input into the evaluation, measurement, efficient operation, and continuous improvement of the community engagement program.
  • Monitor programs to ensure MTM’s values, behaviors, and community needs are being met.
  • Participate in and commit to creating, applying, and improving the customer service strategy for MTM’s continuous improvement systems and processes.
  • Work with other business functions to provide an integrated service of high quality to customers.

About You

You have prior experience in a similar community relations/ engagement role to be a successful applicant for this role. You are confident in building rapport with others and delivering presentations effectively.
 
With the constantly evolving environment, we are working in, you must be adaptable in being technologically savvy in delivering your programs.
 
In addition, you will need to be competent in operating MS Office Suite products such as MS Outlook, Powerpoint, Teams, Word, Excel, and other online platforms. Demonstrated experience in digital content creation is welcomed.
