Position Information
Bella Vista Public School is a newly established school located on Free Settlers Drv, Bella Vista. The school has a current enrolment of over 800 students with a capacity of 1000 students from Kindergarten to Year 6.
Approximately 75.8% of our students are from a language background other than English. The school includes four multi-categorical (MC) support classes for students with a disability.
Bella Vista Public School incorporates an innovative educational model, including flexible teaching and learning spaces organized into distinct ‘home bases’ alongside modern specialist teaching spaces.
The school was designed around new educational concepts for learning. Current priorities of the school include literacy and numeracy excellence, innovative teaching, student well-being, and school culture.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) and approval to teach primary English as a second language or currently completing or enrolled in an approved postgraduate qualification for teaching English as a second language K-6 as recognized by the NSW Department of Education.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a team to support the literacy and English language skills of EAL/D students using your sound knowledge of the ESL Scales and the EAL/D Learning Progressions.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and the community.
- Demonstrated expertise in initiating and leading whole school activities, including public speaking, debating, and choir.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
From 8 November 2021, all Department of Education employees undertaking relevant work including any work conducted on an NSW school site will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
