Job Description
Want to join a small group of forward-thinking developers working in an agile environment? Scribendi, a leading online language services company, seeks a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our in-house team.
You will work with cutting-edge technologies, apply them in the eCommerce sector, and collaborate extensively with stakeholders and the development team to achieve ambitious goals. This role is for a fearless self-starter with good communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
Who you are:
(Required)
- Linux skills
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience in one or more cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, and Azure)
- Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code tools
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools
- Experience with distributed version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
- Programming experience (e.g., Bash, Python, PHP)
- Demonstrable coding, problem-solving, and debugging skills
- Experience working in a distributed / remote environment
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken)
(Preferred)
- Experience with the Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Docker Swarm and the Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)
- Experience with Ansible, Terraform, and Packer
- Experience with Jenkins and Google Cloud Build
(Nice to Have)
- Database management and tuning skills in SQL and NoSQL environments (e.g., MySQL, Redis)
- Experience with business intelligence/data warehousing / ETL
- Experience mitigating IT incidents in the past

What you will do:
- Assist in the implementation of our CI/CD platform, constantly improving infrastructure reliability, scalability, performance, and repeatability of setup and deployment
- Participate in designing, implementing, and rolling out new Infrastructure-as-Code in order to automate manual routines and recurring tasks
- Provide support to promptly identify and address unexpected issues
- Analyze logs, data sources, and monitoring resources to help diagnose issues both proactively and reactively
- Play an important role in continually modernizing engineering culture, practices, and tools, including integrating a variety of open source and commercial applications such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Bitbucket, and VirtualBox
- Make self-improvement efforts, enhancing skills and knowledge to stay current with technologies, methods, and processes through Scribendi’s training days using leading online learning platforms
- Collaborate with talented peers and teams using the latest technologies on the Google Cloud Platform
