BE A PANGEA AMBASSADOR.

Love engaging with people from all over the world, both in and out of the workplace? Enticed by the prospect of working for the hottest new place in the world’s greatest ski resort? If so, we’d like to hear from you.

Pangea, a groundbreaking pod hotel in the heart of Whistler’s pedestrian village, is looking for front desk staff who can make our guests feel at home. You’ll be a front-line ambassador for the Pangea brand – as our guests’ first and last point of contact with the hotel, you’ll be the one who ensures they arrive with the right impression and leave with a lasting one.

You’re an outgoing, charismatic person capable of engaging with an international clientele, and you’re confident talking to guests about the subjects that matter to them (shredding, biking, or travel in general).

Needless to say, you’re naturally warm and welcoming, and you’re able to conduct yourself as such even in difficult circumstances. You’re a “people person” who exudes enthusiasm, energy, courteousness, and diplomacy. You’re also a team player, always looking to pitch in to help other Pangea People wherever needed.

Above all, you’re someone who shares in our vision of success for the Pangea project, a go-getter who actively contributes ideas and makes improvements that shape our future and realize our ambitions for dynamic growth.

ABOUT PANGEA AND OUR FLAGSHIP WHISTLER LOCATION.

The clue to our ethos is in our name. To work at Pangea is to be at the center of a global community of travelers – a place where people from all ends of the Earth and all walks of life gather to have a good time. Our aim is to be the metaphorical melting pot of Whistler – a place where our guests can relax and socialize over a coffee, craft beer, or cocktail, swapping tips from the slopes and sharing stories of their adventures.

THE WORKING ENVIRONMENT AT PANGEA.

There’s nothing ordinary about our hotel (in fact it’s pretty exceptional), so why would our working environment be? Our employees are expected to have fun as well as work hard, to get to know our guests rather than just serve them, and enjoy every day at the hotel. We want them to relish the challenges that come their way and take personal satisfaction from their achievements.

We actively encourage our employees to use their initiative, be creative, and challenge the status quo – if there’s something Pangea could do differently to achieve its goals more quickly or effectively, we want our employees to do or say something about it. We expect them to be proactive, determined, and willing to pitch in.

In return, we offer real opportunities to progress at one of the most exciting hospitality projects in Canada (in one of the most famous mountain resorts on the planet).

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

As well as helping guests check in to Pangea, you’ll play an important part in helping them understand how Pangea works – including its house rules. You’ll be advising them on how to get the best out of their stay (recommending activities and local watering holes alike), as well as helping with orientation, both in terms of the hotel and the Village.

You’ll be a source of knowledge and advice, not just for our guests but for the rest of the Pangea team. And whether a guest wants to book an extra night’s stay, needs help booking local transport, or wants to know the best places in Whistler to eat poutine, you’ll be the person to help them.
