Job Description

The Opportunity:

This role will provide direct support to the Directors in the Commercial Operations team which includes Supply Management & Joint Venture Operations at Canadian Natural.

The role also provides backup and support for the Administrative Assistant to the VP, of Corporate Development and Commercial Operations.

As a key point of contact for the Commercial Operations team, you will liaise with stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while building effective working relationships throughout the organization.

Leveraging problem-solving and prioritization skills, you will develop, implement and maintain the administrative systems and processes to support the executive team.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage phone, calendar & email including coordination of internal recurring meetings, proactively read and researched materials required to deal with incoming requests, coordinated meeting materials, summarize email chains and redirect emails where appropriate, and drafted and edited communications for teams.
  • Effectively organize and plan for travel, events, deadlines, coordination of internal and external meetings including vendors, meet and greets, training, social events, and others
  • Provide assistance and vacation coverage for the creation and update of reports such as weekly commercial operations reports and departmental (staff), information requests and updates on departmental activities
  • Own and provide support for the updating of key communication platforms including the team intranet, team distribution lists, and policies and procedures.
  • Organize, maintain and gain approvals for requests for Education & Training, provisioning of staff requests, among others
  • Create and maintain accurate paper and electronic filings in accordance with the departmental Policies & Procedures
  • Support the team on company initiatives and events including, Adopt a Family, the Annual United Way campaign, etc.

Other Details:

  • Shift schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour days
  • Eligible for relocation pursuant to Canadian Natural’s Relocation Regular Policy

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Typically 8+ years of related administrative experience in an office environment with at least completion of Grade 12 or GED
  • Formal administrative training, a certificate, and experience supporting Executives are preferable
  • Familiarity with and understanding of Supply Management and the Oil & Gas industry
  • Advanced computer skills using the Microsoft Office suite and office equipment including familiarity with video conferencing, WebEx, scanners, and telephone conferencing
