Job Description

Production Supervisor (Night Shift)

The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination and supervision of production personnel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This leadership role will include training, scheduling, monitoring production targets, and effective utilization of plant resources.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage, initiate, and direct the activities of employees and equipment
  • Effective employee relations, by responding promptly to employee concerns, conducting employee meetings and performance evaluations
  • Monitor and initiate training activities in their department and all related documentation
  • Works and ensures that all employees work in a safe manner, in a safe environment
  • Perform weekly safety inspections, 5s inspections, and Layered Audits and complete tasks as assigned from inspections
  • Participate in the corrective action process
  • Must be able to troubleshoot equipment
  • Plan employees’ days, schedule appointments, and adjust schedules in response to customers’ demands. Review turnaround times for repairs and installations and diverse skills of workers to ensure job tasks are assigned to appropriate workers. Change work assignments and schedules to maintain and improve efficiency

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is required
  • Journeyman/woman trade certification in a related field would be an asset
  • Three to five years of machine shop experience and supervision experience would be an asset
  • Knowledge of applicable employment and safety legislation
  • Knowledgeable in basic computer applications and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot machines and equipment
