Job Description

As part of the wider Business Support Services Team, the Management Accounting Team is responsible for various aspects of the financial management of Zoos Victoria, including financial and management accounting services, planning, budget and forecasting services, procurement activities, and asset management services. The Accounts Payable Supervisor holds an integral position within the Finance Team at Zoos Victoria reporting directly to the Manager (Management Reporting, Planning & Analyst), and is responsible for providing leadership and management of the Accounts Payable team.

You will provide expertise in leading, driving, and mentoring the Accounts Payable team, providing ad-hoc reporting and information to support budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accurate and timely transactional accounting, overseeing preparation and verification of all payables, and leading continuous improvements efficiencies.

You will be an enthusiastic, innovative, and committed finance professional whose communication style and performance will facilitate the trust and commitment of the Accounts Payable Team as well as various stakeholders across the organization. You will have completed (be studying towards) a tertiary degree with a major in Accounting or Business, with the ability to undertake CPA/CA/CIMA certification highly regarded.

You’ll bring proven leadership, training, and mentorship experience, along with the ability to work autonomously and effectively to the role. You will be highly proficient in Excel and experience in transitioning from manual processes to a paperless technology platform will be highly regarded. You will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to allow you to work effectively within your team and with a range of people across all levels of the organization.
