About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable Drill and Blast Engineer with experience in optimizing all aspects of operational drill and blast. We want people who are passionate about their field of expertise and mining. This is a permanent opportunity to work on an 8-on-6 off the roster.
Reporting to the Senior Drill & Blast Engineer in the Technical Services Department, you will be required to effectively plan and continually improve the Drill and Blast function, in order to maximize utilization and mine productivity.
You will ensure all tasks are conducted according to Curragh’s policies and procedures as well as complying with the standards and obligations required under the relevant Statutory Acts and Regulations to enable the achievement of the organizational goals.
About You
To be successful in this role you will be an effective communicator with a strong production focus, you will have the skills and the drive to support the Drill and Blast operations in particular: –
- Commitment to safe work practices;
- Demonstrated skill in mine planning and mine design;
- Experience with mine planning software i.e. Vulcan, XPAC, 3dDig, Blast Logic;
- Explosives handling, storage, and legislation knowledge.
