Morningstar is seeking a talented Assistant Editor to join the editorial team. Primary responsibility will be working on one of Morningstar’s publications, First links. First links is a leading weekly publication delivering expert commentary from financial market professionals. Its network of contributors shares their knowledge from an informed and impartial point of view, without pushing products or promoting services.
Day to day could you see being involved in the following
Primary duties involve sub-editing, researching, and fact-checking articles from the team of Morningstar journalists and Firstlinks contributors. You will also work closely with editors, assisting with content planning and the curation of external analysis and opinion articles.
Additionally, you will:

Assist with the curation of content from Firstlinks content partners

Be introduced to content creators with the view to developing long-term relationships

Sub-edit and proof articles across our online channels

Ensure content adheres with Morningstar’s editorial guidelines

Publish content in the CMS including sourcing photos and graphics
We are ideally interested in hearing from people who have a knowledge of financial markets, but an interest in investing is a must. You would also have experience in a similar role, the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and be known for your superior writing and editing skills. Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, or another literacy-related field will be an advantage.
