The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Bristol Medical School as we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative and professional Senior Student Administrator to join our postgraduate student administration team.

The diversity of this role with the challenge of working with different academic and professional staff within the school makes this an interesting opportunity for a resilient individual.

What will you be doing?

The post holder will lead on key areas of student administration, including social media projects, well-being, and events as well as taking responsibility for some specific areas of administration surrounding postgraduate taught degrees within the Population Health Sciences department of the school.

You will work with a small team that includes a Student Administrator and an Administration Assistant. You will be the line manager for the Student Administrator.

Your team sits within the large Postgraduate Student Administration team where there will be support for your work and progression. Full training will be provided, with opportunities to develop to reach future career objectives.

Additionally, you will also be building relationships with the academics who run the courses your team will be supporting.

You should apply if

  • You have excellent customer care skills, are passionate about providing a high level of support to students, and be able to communicate effectively and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external
  • You should also have proven organizational, administrative and attention to detail skills, be efficient, adaptable, and used to working in a very busy environment
  • You have the ability to prioritize effectively and work to deadlines is also essential.
  • You are experienced in using a range of IT systems (particularly Excel) and able to adapt to new systems and processes quickly
  • You hold an A-level, HNC/HND, NVQ 3-4 qualification or equivalent and considerable work experience OR Substantial work experience in a relevant role demonstrating general knowledge of the administrative practice.
