We are now looking for passionate people who want a career in the electrical industry to join Ergon Energy Network and Energex (As part of Energy Queensland).

Energy Queensland is one of the largest electricity networks in the western world and employs thousands of people right around the state. We have various electrical apprenticeships on offer in metro, regional and remote areas of Queensland, to commence in February 2023.

We connect and supply electricity to 2.1 million customers powering communities from Tweed Heads up to the Torres Strait and from Brisbane across to Birdsville covering 1.7 million kilometers. Selecting people with the aptitude to undertake a career in the electricity supply industry is critical to the success of our apprentices. We will consider experience gained through relevant tertiary vocational studies including a Certificate II in Electrotechnology or work experience that demonstrates a potential aptitude for a trade apprenticeship.

An apprenticeship at Energy Queensland is never dull and is very rewarding. You can join in one location, and soon enough, you may spend some time in another part of the state to complete a range of training experiences. An apprenticeship can also be an attractive alternative to tertiary studies and an excellent way of gaining essential experience in your career from day one.

What you can expect with an Apprenticeship with EQL

• 9-day fortnight, a long weekend every fortnight allowing for an excellent work-life balance;
• Fully paid subject course fees and textbooks;
• Fully paid travel and accommodation for training (as applicable).

• Apprentice Electrician
• Apprentice Communications Technician
• Apprentice Distribution Linesperson
• Apprentice Transmission Linesperson
• Apprentice Underground Cable Jointer
• Apprentice Mechanical Trade (Fitter and Turner).

Salary Information

• Under 21 years of age: $32,968 per annum + superannuation
• 21 & over years of age: $66,273 per annum + superannuation.
