About the team
The Planning Approvals team at Sydney Metro sits within the Environment, Sustainability, and Planning team as part of the Operations, Customer, and Place-making division. The team is responsible for obtaining all planning approvals to shape and enable the timely and effective delivery of metro projects, including integrated station developments, to benefit Sydney and its local communities.
The opportunity
We are looking to appoint a Manager of Planning Approvals to predominantly support the infrastructure elements of the Metro West project.
Reporting to Associate Director Planning Approvals, you will provide specialist planning, environmental assessment, and post-planning approval management services that are compliant with relevant statutory requirements, managed effectively and efficiently, and delivered in accordance with time and budget constraints.
You will provide authoritative technical advice and actively participate in consultation and stakeholder engagement processes associated with the preparation of environmental assessment and post-planning approval documentation.
About you
- Sound knowledge and experience in the preparation of environmental assessments relating to the design, delivery, and operations of major development or infrastructure projects.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of all approvals aspects of the Environment, Planning and Assessment Act (1979), the NSW planning system, other NSW environmental legislation, and associated statutory processes.
- Sound knowledge and experience in how the planning approval requirements relate to delivery partners and in post-planning approval management.
- Using proven communication and stakeholder management skills you will be developing trusted and productive internal and external business relationships.
- Capacity to successfully juggle multiple deliverables and complex issues, in a busy and evolving delivery environment.
- You will understand the challenges and opportunities of working within a matrix-based organization, and of collaborating with multiple deployed teams.
- Result-oriented with a keen sense of urgency.
- An enthusiastic and curious approach with the ability to motivate and influence others.
